AWESOME...I LOVE IT..I LOVE IT...I LOVE IT!!

Sorry, I had to get that out of the way! WOW, what a fantastic phone. So many features..where to begin?? I will start with email forwarding. It is amazing. You can forward up to 5 emails on the Pearl. It will alert you when an email has been received and you can review it anywhere you have service. Man, there are so many features on this phone!

Also, it has a calendar that you can use just as you would a hand-held. It will inform you of upcoming events as well as appointments and alarms. It also features a “task” program that is similar to a “to-do list”. Again, this has alarms as well.

One of the coolest things about the Pearl is you can get on the Internet no matter where you are in America as long as you have the data plan! It uses an operating system called RIM (research in motion).

It uses quad band technology. (GSM 850/900/1800/1900; EDGE) It has 3.5 hours of talk time and 15 hours of stand-by time but I find that it is much longer than that. I use my internet constantly and I am always listening to music and I charge my phone every other day. It features a 1.3 mega-pixel camera but it has no video. It does have zoom but they aren’t very good. The pics are decent but that is not the reason I bought this phone, I already have a nice camera!!

For mobile professionals, an attachment viewer opens popular file formats, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Corel WordPerfect, PDF, JPEG, GIF, and more. You can also view tracked changes and embedded images and zoom and rotate documents, but you can't edit documents out of the box, though third-party software is available that allows this functionality. Other applications on the Pearl include a memo pad, an alarm, a password keeper, and a calculator.
As a phone, the address book is limited only by the available memory, which tops out at 64MB flash memory (the SIM card holds an additional 250 contacts). For each entry, you can store up to eight numbers, work and home addresses, e-mail and Web addresses, company information, and notes. For caller ID purposes, you can assign a photo to a contact as well as a group category, business or personal. The BlackBerry Pearl now supports voice dialing, so you can use voice commands to call up contacts and dial numbers. In addition, Bluetooth 2.0 is onboard for wireless headsets, car kits, and desktop connectivity.
This phone has been an absolute lifesaver, it has gotten me back on the road when I was lost, I am able to respond and send emails from anywhere in the country as long as I have service. I manage a car dealership and I am constantly getting emails from vendors and customers and employees. I am able to respond to them while on vacation (if I choose to do so) and late at night (if I choose to do so) and on many other inconvenient occasions when I am not at the office. I can take a picture of a car that we just got in, that may not be on the website yet, and send it to that person’s phone or email address!!
I love this thing and I have read some other reviews and read the complaints about the camera and about the speed of the browser but you have to keep in mind that these are not laptops or desktops, they are primarily cell phones with incredible conveniences. It also uses a trackball instead of the trackbutton that they used in the past. It is cool and I love it.
I have gone on and on about how much I love this phone but I can’t say it enough, it is small, it is functional, it is sleek and it is sexy. It comes in Blue, Red, Gold, or Black. I have the black. There are many accessories all over the internet for this thing and you will not be disappointed when you get one!

UPDATE!!

I have had the Pearl now for about 7 months and I still love it but I find that this trackball is starting to wear out a little bit, I can see this becoming a problem later on down the road. I looked at a few websites and seen that you can replace the trackball so I guess that is a good thing but I would hate to have to buy that because the phone should not have this problem. Also, it is impossible to keep clean. It has a reflective surface that shows every fingerprint or blemish.

Another thing that I have come to love is the ability to listen to music. I have a 1GB card in the back of mine and the speaker on it sounds pretty good for a smartphone. It is very easy to navigate through the MP3 player and I have hundreds of songs on my card. Another thing that I am not crazy about is the small headphone jack. I would like to see a standard size jack but I guess you can't have it all. I will try to update as the phone gets older.

Thanks
