Nice when it works, awful experience if it doesn't
Pros: Small, powerful, looks great, sounds good.
Cons: If it doesn't work you will pay Creative a lot of time and money. Full review I purchased this player in May 2007 and loved it for about six months; easy to use, sounded great. It never did interface correctly with my computer but I found some work-arounds to get music onto it. After the six month mark, it froze up (stopped charging, wouldn't turn on.) I spent a LOT of time and energy working on my computer- downgrading and upgrading Windows programs, reinstalling drivers, etc. The software currently doesn't interface with Vista. After trading some e-mails with Creative tech support, they gave me a return authorization and charged me $25 (plus I paid shipping) to test it in their lab. They did replace the product but gave me no information about what was wrong with it. Currently, the replacement is not working either; I need to replace the USB cable (Creative products will only charge/connect with Creative's USB cable, wall charger, or car charger, which must be purchased on line for a hefty shipping fee.) I would not recommend this item for purchase unless you have a really serious reason not to buy an iPod. |
